Through the Storm
Strong In Him
Read Colossians 1:9-14; Ephesians 3:14-21; Revelation 19:11-21.
When we enter the Kingdom of God we do so from the territory of an opposing kingdom – the dominion of darkness. The Bible clearly indicates that Satan is our chief enemy and his is the spirit that drives the world’s end-time agenda.
God’s Word stands as a written testimony that these things must happen before Jesus returns. The Holy Spirit warns us and testifies to our spirits that these things are true. The enemy will throw every storm in his armoury at us - to discourage, disappoint and defeat us – in an attempt to prevent the Church from being effective in God’s service.
The rise in anti-Semitism at this time is also one final attempt to prevent the Jewish people from being able to say; “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Matt 23:39), which Jesus prophesied they must do as a precursor to His return.
We must get our perspective correct: Satan is already a defeated foe and terrified of the children of God who know who their God truly is – and who, as a result, also know their immense worth and significance to Him.
Satan is already a defeated foe and terrified of the children of God who know who their God truly is...
The journey of the past months in these devotionals has been one of allowing God to form a stronghold of His love, faith and certain hope deep inside.
-
The covenant love of God is our bedrock.
-
We apply this love to our lives through faith in the blood of Jesus.
-
God is thoroughly for us and on our side; we are secure.
-
He totally loves us and longs for us to reciprocate by learning to live every day in the intimacy and companionship of relationship; we are accepted.
-
Our purpose is to let the Light of Life within pierce the darkness in the environs around us, giving testimony and glory to what God has done in us; we are significant.
Revelation 19:11-21 gives a description of an end-time army riding out behind their leader – Messiah Jesus - as He finally overcomes the beast. Whilst this refers to a time still a whole way off in the future, nevertheless, we are already being prepared to ride out with Him.
Knowing our security, acceptance and significance in God’s covenant love are the essence of the true elite force - the spiritual S.A.S. When we really begin to comprehend these deep spiritual truths we can “…grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ…”. Then we will be able “…to know this love that surpasses knowledge.”
Once we grasp who we truly are in Christ, and begin to live it out, the enemy is far more scared of us than we are of him.
As we reach out in faith and drink these truths deep into our spirits, then we “…may be filled [with the oil of the Spirit] to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Please understand that once we grasp who we truly are in Christ, and begin to live it out, the enemy is far more scared of us than we are of him. Each of us has the potential to be as highly trained and useful a spiritual unit for God’s Kingdom as the Army’s S.A.S.!

Prayer Time:
Reflect on the journey of these notes.
-
What has God taught you about His love and character?
-
What has He shown you about how He sees you?
-
What has God shown you about the value He places on your relationship with Him?
-
How have been growing in your relationship with Him?
Spend the remainder of your quiet time today in the ‘oil room’ of worship, prayer and listening.
