Unite the Kingdom

  • TR 2Putting Christ at the heart of Christmas? Tommy Robinson has announced an open air carol service, ‘Putting Christ back into Christmas’, to be held in Whitehall, central London today Saturday Dec 13th. All are invited to attend. Robinson states, “at a time when the message of Christ can feel forgotten or overshadowed, Unite The Kingdom is calling Christians together to stand boldly and lovingly for the heart of our faith: Christ is Christmas.” There will be Bible readings and reflections, with priests, pastors, ministers, “and a bishop leading the congregation through the powerful story of Christ’s birth and the hope it brings”. This is to come with live music and uplifting worship “from a dynamic gospel band, alongside breath-taking performances from opera singers”. The service will also include testimonies – “moving personal stories from Christians sharing how their lives were changed by their journey to Jesus Christ”.
  • ‘Feeding a political agenda’, the Church protests. A number of Christian leaders across UK have launched campaigns to challenge the carol service, and what it sees as the rise in Christian nationalism TR xmasbehind it – such reaction being championed by the mainstream media (read here, here and here). The Church of England has launched a poster campaign countering the event with slogans like “Christ has always been in Christmas” and “Outsiders welcome”. Several commentators critically suspect the event is “feeding a political agenda" The leaking of emails that Robinson sent to his supporters over recent weeks indeed prove this to be the case, terming the event "a beacon of hope amid the chaos of mass migration and cultural erosion that threatens our way of life," and "a statement that Britain belongs to the British people, and our Christian heritage will not be silenced."
  • Church ‘mad at the promotion of Christ’. But, as Ian Paul notes on the Psephizo website, "We seem to have had Christian groups who have spent months entirely at ease under pro-Palestine banners, Islamic slogans, rainbow flags, LGBTQ+ causes, BLM symbolism, climate change flags, and anti-colonial rhetoric, who are suddenly and seemingly scandalised by a carol event—and not primarily because of the carols. That contrast alone should make us pause ... The most unsettling element of this carol event will not be Robinson. It will be the crosses, the icons, the voices publicly shouting, “Jesus is King.” That will disturb many who have been perfectly comfortable with other ideological symbols dominating public space all year. The offence is not nationalism; the offence is Christ showing up in a place we did not approve." Read also herehere and here.

Israel / Hamas War

  • Hamas foodHamas hoarded baby milk to create hunger crisis. A video has emerged purporting to show a warehouse in Gaza strewn with boxes containing infant formula and nutritional drinks. Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a US-based Gazan researcher, said activists had documented a number of similar finds from the Israel-Hamas war, indicating that “Hamas deliberately hid literal tons of infant formula and nutritional shakes for children by storing them in clandestine warehouses belonging to the Gaza ministry of health.” He claimed Hamas’s goal had been to worsen the hunger crisis and “initiate a disaster” that would add diplomatic pressure on Israel to end the war.
  • The evidence was so clearly apparent. Israel has long claimed that Hamas was systematically stealing supplies - but these were largely or denied. Alkhatib said that when he and countless others repeatedly flagged up this issue, they were “villainised, attacked, threatened, and made into pariahs by the ‘pro-Palestine’ industrial complex and activist mafias”, even though for Gazans, the evidence was so clearly apparent before their eyes.” Alkhatib is relatively rare among the Gazan diaspora in being critical of Israeli conduct of the war but also of Hamas.

World Events

  • Quebec to ban public prayer in new secularism law. Quebecquebec is set to intensify its crackdown on public displays of religion by banning prayer in public — with a fine of over C$1,000 for contravention. Opponents of the bill argue that this will make the Canadian province one of the most hostile places for religion anywhere in the world. While all religious faiths are included in the ban, critics say the proposed law disproportionately affects Muslims, by banning:

            * Group prayers in public spaces like parks without municipal permission.
            * Face coverings from daycare through post-secondary education.
            * The exclusive offering of religious meals (halal, kosher) in public institutions.
            * Religious symbols (hijab, kippah, turban) to staff in subsidised daycare centres.

The bill faces strong opposition and legal challenges as opponents insist it violates religious freedom rights.

  • Man builds Noah's ark ahead of '3-yr global flood’. A Ghanian man, Ebo Jesus, arkwho also goes by the name Noah, has gone viral after building a number of wooden arks after he claimed to have received a divine vision from God who told him it would rain for three years beginning on December 25, submerging the entire world. His social media posts on the topic have gained millions of views, but it is noted that the vessels appear to be much smaller than the famous ark built by Noah in the Bible. ‘Noah’ offers to shelter those who join him from anywhere in the world before the rain begins, so long as they enter into a covenant with God. He claims to have around ten arks, each being able to hold around 5,000 people. He says they were built from 250,000 pieces of “special” wood personally selected and prayed over.

Survive and Thrive

  • Give children flu vaccines to protect granny, says NHS. Flu rates are currently more than three times higher among children than pensioners. Figures show that fewer than half of children aged five to 14 have been vaccinated. Because older people are far more likely to be taken to hospital if they catch it, NHS bosses are advising that children should be given flu vaccinations to protect their grandparents this Christmas.
  • Flu vaccine ineffective at preventing infection and transmission. But as Will Jones of The Daily Sceptic points out, if nearly half of flu tests in children are positive despite nearly half of children being vaccinated, what does that say about the effectiveness of the vaccine? It certainly is unlikely to prevent children spreading it to older relatives. Besides, granny will herself presumably be vaccinated in the hope of preventing serious disease. Even Anthony Fauci admitted that flu vaccines fail to prevent infection because the flu virus is “quickly transmitted to other hosts, within a narrow window of time before adaptive immune responses are fully marshalled”. In any case, Jones is of little doubt that this year’s supposedly high rates of flu “are (so far) mainly an illusion created by the wave happening slightly earlier. Most likely the overall shape and total numbers will be similar to other years by the end of the season.”

Church Matters

  • Many Brits leaving Christianity turn to paganism. A new survey, released by the Institute for the Impact of Faith in Life, reveals that Paganism is the most popular spiritual destination for people dropping out of Christianity. It is well known that Paganism is on the rise in Britain, the 2021 census telling us that there was a near 30% increase in adherents since 2011. The survey questioned nearly 3,000 adults who identified as having "experienced a change in their religious belief." Around 67% said they left Christianity and became atheist/agnostic, while 20% said they "experienced weakened faith," 9% said they adopted an alternative form of spiritualism such as Wicca or Pagan. An additional 3% became Buddhist, and 2% became Muslim. Paganism and spiritualism together made up the largest block of ex-Christians turning to an alternative faith (though some may have been nominal Christians in the first place).
  • Vicarages to be victims of Labour’s mansion tax. Vicarsvicarage face being forced out of their large vicarage homes by Labour’s mansion tax, the Bishop of Manchester, David Walker, has warned, saying there was “no way” parishes in poor parts of the country would be able to pay the levy. Many vicarages in England will surpass the £2m valuation threshold at which a property will be caught by the £2,500 yearly council tax surcharge from April 2028. Vicars are exempt from income tax that would otherwise be charged on their property as a “benefit in kind” tax linked to their free housing while they are employed.

Christmas

  • Fury at Christmas drag queen show for under-5’s. A drag performance titled “Drag Tales TaniaChristmas” has been scheduled for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 5 across several London venues. These events are being marketed as “family-friendly” by the venues hosting them; they are anything but. The performer involved, Tania LeCoq, is known for his hyper-sexualised drag persona, provocative costuming and explicit routines. Angry parents have branded the show ‘extremely inappropriate’, and campaigners have described it as ‘a horrific perversion of the Christmas period’, with many threatening to protest outside the event at Richmond Theatre, west London on December 19. CitizenGo has formed a petition calling for the immediate cancellation of the show.
  • Scientist claims to find the true ‘Star of Bethlehem’. A Nasa astronomer has claimed there is scientific evidence explaining the strange movement of the Star of Bethlehem that led the three wise men to the infant Jesus. While many have chosen to see the biblical account of the star in the book of Matthew as a miracle or a myth, Matney has now suggested it did in fact exist - confirming long-held views that a comet nearly struck the earth some 2,000 years ago. His analysis in the Journal of the British Astronomical Association points to an object recorded by the Chinese from 5BC - a bright comet that was visible for more than 70 days. Travellers moving south, towards Bethlehem, could have potentially spotted it 'going before' them and then lingering overhead. Remarkably, this is the latest of over 400 scholarly attempts that have been made to explain the truth of the Star of Bethlehem.

Islam

  • Rape as an Islamic tool for conquering Europe. The website Globalist Fight Against Terrorism Funding (GFATF) reports that over the last few years, there has occurred a constant increase in rape cases in Western Europe. In more than 50% of these, the involvement of Muslim men is noted, although Muslims constitute less than 5% of the population. Moreover, the website states, there is a direct correlation between the number of granted citizenships to Muslims in Western European countries and the sharp rise in rape cases in these same countries. This fact, GFATF controversially claims, is rooted deeply in Islamic religion, culture, and ideology – being yet another tool in the toolbox of Islamist terror used against the European population.

Antisemitism

  • Tories demand deportation of anti-Semitic foreign students. The Conservatives have called on the Education Secretary to deport anti-Semitic foreign students blahfrom the UK, raising concerns over a “deeply troubling rise in anti-Semitic behaviour... particularly on university campuses”. The party has urged the Government to use existing powers to revoke the visas of any foreign citizens who harassed or intimidated members of the Jewish community, and calls for the deportation of foreign citizens, including students, who expressed anti-Semitism or voiced their support for extremism or terrorism. The proposals echo the Trump administration’s visa crackdown on foreign students accused of anti-Semitism, which has placed the president on a war footing against many top US universities.

Campbell Jack Campbell wrote an excellent article recently making the case that church leaders have lost touch with their working class congregants. The so-called leaders response to a mass attendance Christmas Carol Service is a prime example of his point. These leaders should be on their knees before Almighty God crying out for His forgiveness. Shame on them

To begin with, and the emails aside, there is absolutely no need to conflate the Gospel of our Lord Jesus with any earthy Kingdom or cause, never mind one so clearly advertised under the banner of a national flag. If the intention is to glorify and proclaim Christ, then keep with the matter in hand. Jesus needs, and in fact demands, no other identities or loyalties to support His eternal cause. By all means have a carol service, and through it proclaim the Gospel; but the Gospel calls all men everywhere to repent and is for every nation, tribe and tongue, so all must be invited, and it must be open to all.

Beyond that, when the cause of a cultural Christian heritage, immigration and national identity are so clearly described as "core principles" then the message of the Gospel becomes diluted and used as a vehicle for another cause.

it is the 'Ulsterisation' of your politics and religion, and the direction of travel should be clear to all.

If we're really going to be Christ back into Chrismas, then we have to take father Christmas, christmas tree, wreaths etc out. Our children are now not taught the Biblical Christmas story in schools, so how are they or anyone els supposed to understand what Christmas is celebrating? If we truly want to unite the kingdom, then that's what we should be doing. I'm all for Tommy Robinson, who has been treated appalingly, and I agree with standing up against islmification, but we need to start with REPENTANCE and turning back to God

The Salvation Army band used to play Christmas carols in our city centre but for apparent reasons were not seen so far this year. In fact, last Christmas, their appearance were missing and the years before. It as been seen over the past few years local churches do not gather together in witnessing for Jesus at Christmas time to include Carol services. At the Christmas Carol service in Lincoln Cathedral is by ticket only. Religion appears to be at the forefront of Churchianity where one is expected in going to a Carol service, folk are expected to find a church building of their choice to sing the traditional carols on hand. Don't see a helping hand to those seeking Christ. However, in the city centre today, the Hara Krishna were walking the streets and giving out leaflets and booklets about themselves attracting crowds of young people. Opportunities missed! I don't fear of witnessing for Jesus this Christmas time, for after all, Jesus came into this world, born in Bethlehem where there was no bed and breakfast for Mary and Joseph, no religious organisation to provide accommodation, only to be visited by three wise men and local shepherds looking after their sheep at that time, with King Herod wanting to kill the newborn babe because Christ was considered a threat to his reign. Christ the Lord was born to die, not only for my sins and yours, but for this sins of the world. Praise the Lord for celebrating Christ's birth this Christmas whilst I am able. I have no qualms in doing so; nor do I expect condemnation from fellow Believers who are following the Lord Jesus Christ - after all we are one in Christ! Maranatha!
