We Stand with our Jewish Neighbours
A Statement from the British Jewish Messianic Alliance
The British Jewish Messianic Alliance have released this statement, which Prophecy Today UK would like to fully endorse, in the light of the recent stabbings in Golders Green.
It is with profound sorrow that we respond to the events that took place today (29th April 26) in Golders Green, where two members of the Jewish community were seriously injured in a targeted knife attack. The assailant, reported to have pursued individuals within this Jewish neighbourhood, was detained by Shomrim volunteers, and subsequently arrested by the police. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and pray for the full and swift recovery of those injured, as well as for the continued safety of all residents.
This incident must be understood within a broader and deeply concerning context. It follows the recent arson attack on Hatzola ambulances and attempted fire bombings of Jewish premises earlier this month. Taken together, these acts point to a pattern of escalating violence and intimidation directed towards Jewish people in the United Kingdom. The significant rise in reported antisemitic incidents in recent years further underscores the seriousness of this trend. Such actions are not only an attack on the Jewish community, but a grave affront to the values and security of our society as a whole.
We affirm that the Church, as the Body of Messiah, is rooted in the Jewish Scriptures, redeemed through a Jewish Messiah, and indebted to the Jewish people for the Word of God.
A call to prayer
We respectfully call upon churches and believers across the United Kingdom to pray:
-
For the healing and restoration of those injured.
-
For the peace, security and reassurance of the Jewish community in Golders Green and beyond.
-
For wisdom, diligence and resolve among law enforcement and public authorities.
-
For a turning of hearts across our nation, that antisemitism may be firmly confronted and rejected.
-
For the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to bring comfort and protection to His people, and that many may come to know the Messiah, Jeshua.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, May those who love you be secure” (Psalm 122: 6)
